If you are like many people in the great city of Manhattan, there is a chance that you love watching great independent films. Many of us jump for joy at the opportunity to take our families out for a night of fun on the town, a delicious meal and then a great movie before finally calling it a night and returning home. Nothing is better than going out to the amazing, beautiful Angelica Film Center to check out the kinds of movies that they are showing audiences each and every weekend. The whole story can be found at http://www.eonline.com/news/did_joe_jonas_just_in_love_video/266703?cmpid=rss-000000-rssfeed-365-topstories They are always changing up the set list and you will never have the same experience twice.

They have been showing the latest indie films for years now. Small filmmakers from all over the country come here after making their low-budget masterpieces in hopes of having their films shown at the Angelica Film Center. It has been a hub for these small films and if the owners have anything to do with it, they will continue to be the premier indie movie house.

If you have never been, now is the time to take your family out and have a night of fun. After all, nothing beats a great indie film!

Visiting New York City for the first time can be one of the most magical events of your life if properly planned. When making reservations using a travel agent or making your own reservations by using an online travel portal, add in an off-Broadway show or two. The theater in New York City is the finest in the world competing with the London theater. The actors and staging are phenomenal. You can find a list of off- Broadway shows by researching online or talking to your travel agent. Many off-Broadway shows are sold by travel agents who do travel bookings to New York City. The reason is obvious since New York City is a mecca for actors and the theater.
While in New York City, do go to Macy’s but don’t forget to take in the culture of the first capital of The United States, New York City. While a walk in Central Park might be thrilling, a couple of off- Broadway shows will leave your permanently impressed with the vitality and the sophistication that distinguishes New York City from all other great cities of the world. You can easily find off- Broadway shows by taking a walk through Broadway or calling for tickets.

Union Square is one of the most popular places in New York City to view freelance artists, and it’s a great treat when you first really get settled into the city.

You’ll see everything from freelance artists that might draw caricatures of you and your family for cheap as a great souvenir to say that you were actually in one of the busiest sections of NYC. Also, you’ll get a lot of interesting entertainment that you might not see in your own home.

There’s a style called bone breaking that comes from Brooklyn, where the illusion is literally flexing and twisting your joints in a manner that almost looks like the person can dislocate his joints.

Also, there are great acrobatic shows that include b-boying (break dancing). NYC is a hot bed for break dancing as it is the origins. You’ll see a lot of b-boys put on shows right in Union Square with their daring acrobatic, creative, and highly entertaining shows. Sometimes, they’ll even battle with rival crews just to give you a show like you are watching a cult classic like Beat Street.

Union Square is a really cultural and great place to start your journey in NYC!Can’t get enough? There’s more: Slut Walk 2011 -Union Square

A visit to the Central Park Zoo is a delightful experience for both children and adults. The zoo is a small affair, only 6.5 acres, so it’s just the right size for a stroll with the kids or a friend. Living here are 150 species from around the world, dwelling in simulations of their natural environment.
The Polar Circle houses the two polar bears, Ida and Gus, while nearby are seals, penguins and puffins. Many birds from the tropics share the Rain Forest exhibit with various reptiles, amphibians, lemurs, fruit bats and tamarins. Sea lions, macaques, red pandas and swan geese share the Temperate Territory with some recent arrivals to the zoo, the snow leopards from Central Asia.
The Tisch Children’s Zoo is a favorite with many families. Children can feed domestic animals, including alpacas, Vietnamese pigs and a Nubian goat. Visitors can marvel at the interactive sculptures and models that are scattered through the exhibit.
Animals are not the only appealing feature of the zoo. You can smell the roses and drown in the color of the lush perennial garden, while listening to the seasonal tunes and nursery rhymes of the George Delacorte Musical Clock.
The Central Park Zoo is located between 63rd and 66th Streets, and is open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm in the winter, and 10 am to 5:30 pm from April to October. Admission is 10 for adults, 7 for seniors, and 5 for children aged 3-12. Children younger than three can visit the zoo for free.
