and widest of the Finger Lakes.
It has a maximum depth of 382
feet.
The
Finger Lakes, so named because
of their finger-like shape, were
each carved out of the rocks during
the ice age. Cayuga Lake extends
from Ithaca, New York north to
its outlet at the Montezuma National
Wildlife Refuge at the North End of Cayuga Lake near the Village of Cayuga.
The
lake is known for the extraordinary
natural beauty of its meandering
journey through the magnificent
surrounding hills. It's southern
headwaters form some of the most
beautiful gorges and waterfalls
in the world.
